Helpful hints for building coops

Annie ate the first ripe tomato today. It was a cherry tomato a little bigger than a marble. more getting red.
today I set up a container for rooting elderberry soft cuttings. might try some apple cuttings, too. Never tried this technique . Hope it works..

Cappy, I take it that you have caught the escape artist.
a border collie needs a lot of things to do.
otherwise they will invent things to do which can be considered to be annoying to humans.
I had one that loved to chew off the garden hoses at about six feet from the faucet.
unbeknown to me, he also chased cars.
.I never caught him out by the road. He was smart enough to be at the house when I came home..

We have a catch pen of field fencing, which I lined with chicken wire when the first one got out. This morning I set up their playground equipment. They are good at going through the tunnel!

If you are a clean freak make sure you build it with ways that make it easy to clean. We painted the inside of the coop as well. I wish we had put linoleum not only on the floors but also the walls. Use hardware cloth & not chicken wire if your area is prone to predators. It will save you time in the long run. My neighbor said chicken wire just makes it easier for them to cut up your chicken into pieces. He had photos....

Aart, I think there were four babies..
It has a good chance to survive because it can eat vegetation. and I believe there is a stream near by.. I am surprised that it didn't come back to it's siblings, yet..
