wed afternoon,
up to 34F from 23F already today.

the head of my keyless chuck head blew apart on my sawzall a couple of years ago.
I never bothered fixing it or getting a new sawzall. only time I really used it was in demolition on remodeling jobs.

to take the pallets apart, couldn't you use a monkey paw and hammer to take the nails out ? sometimes a flat bar works, too..
in either case, grind the tool sharp so that it digs in better than the blunt end it comes with.
with one of my flat bars, I ground it back on the outside edges so that it was more pointed instead of flat across

I have a compressor on wheels, a pumpkin and a small portable one.
the portable one quit on me this summer. the pumpkin needs a start up capacitor . it hums for a bit and then starts up. sometimes I have to give the fan a little spin by hand.
I guess Annie got tired of me swearing at the pumpkin. Yesterday she took me to F&F and bought me a brand new 3 gallon portable one..
I think I will keep her..
Our mailbox got wiped out for the third time this summer/fall..suspect farmers and their wide equipment running up our road..

Jim , i did try a pry bar and hammer but it is really more work than i want to do. Sawing is so easy. Alternately i though of using a punch on the nails. If that set goes on sale i will nab one.
Having fun with my woodburning tool. Made a sign for the house. Pics later, need to go feed and water.

a prybar is cumbersome.
a monkey paw is small and easy to use. Once you get the nail head up a bit, then use the pry bar. but usually you can complete the pull with the monkey paw. unless the nail is too long..

If you just remove the nails from the center of the board, then cut both ends off. you will end up with most of the length minus a couple of inches..

The center is the hardest part to do , lol. Here is my sign. Not stained yet.
