pictures are forthcoming.
today I took an old cordless drill apart. I had to use my side grinder to cut it apart . after about an hour and a half I got the chuck off clean and clear.. was supposed to be a ten minute job..

then Annie kidnapped me and I was gone all day..didn't get anything done that I wanted to

I will check in my photo files, I might have pictures of the coops..

The quail hatched in my Brinsea. My Incuview had the piece of crap plastic turner arm fall off today and it will not stay on. I can't glue it as the bator is full of guinea eggs. So the incubator i paid like $180 for has an automatic turner that is useless. No, my opinion of it is not changed. Lots of cheap parts.

mine has a cotter pin that goes through the arm and the drive shaft...

Looking forward to seeing that tool! Can we please have pictures of the coop for the new folks? When you get a chance...
Yes definitely want to see what it looks like! Right now I have my chickens in 12x12 chain link pens. I have a shelter inside the pen that I used four post dug into the ground and tin on top for when it rains, and some shade. The hard part is my polish love to dig and roll in the dirt especially when it rains!

Gotta wonder if you're just too impatient to learn how this bator functions?
I know you've got a lot on your plate right now,
and usually move at the speed of light from one project to another,
but you might consider the learning curve aspect before calling it junk.

patience, Grasshopper..

I used up my patience on two boys...i want a user friendly incubator. That doesn't have parts falling off before the first hatch is over. I can and likely will figure this miserable thing out. I just hate having to mess with electrical stuff. Had no idea it was going to be this much of a pain or i never would have spent so much on it. I thought it was going to be better.
I did get the boards cut for the lean-to today. Then i painted them. Only angles left to cut are the ones that will butt up against the wall of the barn. Have to figure that out. Then buy the tin for the roof.

I'm pretty happy with mine, but the first few days of testing it were very frustrating.
Was totally intimidated by the digital controls until someone on the Incuview thread explained in detail how to change the ones I needed to adjust...the instructions missed a step that I did not find intuitive. After that it was much easier to learn it. The clear lid was worth the initial frustration.

The "parts falling off" is likely user error, or you're missing the cotter pin for the turner crank.

6 out of 26 hatched day 19/20.
