looking good Cappy,
If I worked on the ground like that, it would take a crane to lift me back to my feet.
I started the tractor up today to take the dumpster out to the road. good news, no bees
I parked it way across the property, so they won't find it so easily if any come back to the original spot..
got my hearing aid fixed. now I have to get my glasses adjusted,,,,,,again..
I keep seeing double..makes it interesting if I am driving.. lots of lines to pick out to drive between,. LOL

I am quite flexible, but my knees are not what they used to be. I did get the wire tacked on the garden gate, and put it up in the gap. Hinges tomorrow, and a latch of some sort.
Started the next pen, these animals are growing crazy fast! I really need yet another chicken coop as well. Good think hubby is going on vacation soon.

Great to see all the progress cappy.

I bet having a fixed hearing aid is good Jim. I have hearing aids too and I'm getting new ones on Monday. I've only had my current ones for almost 10 years, so i ts certainly time for an upgrade.

Not much progress on my coop the last few days. The weather has been all over the place. Hail, rain, thunderstorms. Sudden squalls and very strong gusts of wind. With intermittent brilliant blue skies to lull you into a false sense of security.

My sons trampoline was picked up by the wind and thrown into a fence before rolling down the side of my house. A pile of the steel roofing I have was tossed over one of our cars. Luckily there was very little damage, just a couple of paint scratches.

With all this temperamental weather and saturated ground, there's not much I'm wanting to get out there and do. Gotta love winter :sick I just feel like hibernating.

I need to buy 3 long rails to use for the roof. None of the timber I have is long enough. Until I get that, progress is stalled.

When I go to the city to get my new hearing aids, I'm picking up a roll of wire mesh cloth stuff. I'm pretty sure this is it https://www.bunnings.co.nz/eurosteel-900-x-25-0mm-x-10m-galvanised-square-weld-mesh_p00314830

the hearing aid was not broken, after all.
there are tiny inserts in the ear plug. Plug is the keyword here. one was plugged. He showed me how to change the insert.

then I had an appointment with my eye Dr to test the pressure in my eyes. pressure was good.. I told him about the problem with my new glasses. I see double..
He told me to go to where they made the glasses and have them remove a prism.
I contacted the VA, they told me to have the glasses adjusted. OK, I already had them adjusted twice since I got them less than two months ago.. So I went and had them adjusted for the third time..
too late to make a long story short, but, the double vision is gone.. I can drive again..
the temps hit almost 100F here today.
I am sooo glad I put the AC's in the bedrooms. last night it was cold enough in our bedroom to cover up with a quilt. Lovin' it..
our female dog, Frankie , has learned all about AC. she won't go outside except in an emergency, . (to go potty)..

Actual or heat index?
It was miserable here yesterday...
...supposed to be worse today with hi of 95 and 105°F heat index.
Might have to spend most the afternoon in the lower level where it's cooler.
Is it stupid to be running an incubator in the coolest room in the house?

Art, actual temp was 96F heat index 101F
I ran my incubators in my room in the basement. it is the natural coolest room in the house. average temp about 60F. with 3 incubators going it gets up to about 80F.
last night, we had our AC running. early in the morning I turned it off. I figured we could coast until we got up on the cool air in the room. how wrong I was. I awoke later and I could hardly breathe. it wasn't the heat so much, but the humidity was suffocating.. I turned the AC back on and it will stay on..
No plans to go outside today.
yep, new adjusted glasses and hearing aids that work. I feel like I am 10 years old. LOL I can actually read the newspaper again..
I am glad I bought the new lawn mower when I did. 99% of the lawn is mowed. I wouldn't want to be doing that right now.
I like my Cub Cadet 42".. it cuts great, runs great, and has plenty of power to climb any incline i have on the place.
It looks like a bumper crop of plums. If they don't dry up .. and you wouldn't believe the bumper crop of elderberry blossoms..
I want to make some jelly, and if we get really ambitious, maybe a 5 gallon jug of wine.. the wine will take at least 15 pounds of berries, more is better..

We could almost incubate outside!
