boots, I have cloned other plants, . it is easy.. being that a tomato is quite succulent, it should be easy.
there are lots of tutorials on youtube.
but what you can do is remove a sucker.
(plain leaves work , also)
immediately pull off the lower leaves and all blossoms. stick the stem into water for 2 to 3 weeks. roots will form
when they are about an inch long, put the cutting into dirt as you would any tomato transplant. a 3 to 5 gallon pot will do.
If the pot has a handle, like a 5 gal pail.
secure it in the carrying position so it is already handy when the tomato grows up around it.
fertilize as you would any transplant.
youtube has info on that, too. but some of the info is too involved for my taste.
I went out at dusk to water my tomatoes. I hadn't realized how bad the mosquitoes are. I lasted only a few minutes.
fortunately it rained real good about 1AM.
