Yeah we've had 3 so far and I can't count the number of folks who've been through the house at random times. Realtor says give it a couple more weeks so that's what we'll do.

We're waiting for the manufacturer to do the detailing on the new place so we can get moved in. Hanging here at the old place is just spinning our wheels and it's nerve wracking.
I sold my house to my son while waiting for my new house to close. I paid his first 2 months mortgage that way. It was the most stressful time of my life, believe it or not, more stressful than when my late husband passed away at age 46.

The heat has broken with the cool air from Wis
Lost one chicken hen during the heat...was only two years old
Im so sorry. I worry with oor heatwave. 3 days of high 90s feeling like 100s. Been putting several frozen bottles of ice andfrozen kitchen scraps in the run under the shaded part. Tomorrow it will drop to 77 degrees!

Sorry for your loss Molpet. :hugs

I almost feel guilty for the moderate weather the west coast has been having. This has been the mildest July we've seen in years. Temperatures have generally been ranging in the low 70s to mid 80s during the day. It's even rained some this month.

And you have reminded me how lucky we are house wise as well. No mortgages involved, old house was paid for and we bought the new one and the land it's on with a home equity loan. Once the old house sells that'll be paid off and we'll have a nice cushion.

That's the plan anyway.:fl

If our weather stays like it is for the rest of the summer, it won't break my heart.
windows open, no AC, no blankets needed.
slight cool breeze.. what more can we ask for ?
have the battery charged up, going to go after a can of gas.
with the help of a 3 ton chain hoist, I think I can pull myself out.
none of my neighbors have stopped in to see if I need help, except one. all he had to offer was a 4WD pickup like mine, and mine didn't do it.. but at least he offered..
the guys with the giant tractors just drive on by.. sort of irks me as they are using a few of my acres for their soy beans and corn..

Probably they figured it you needed help you would ask... But one would think they would check

yeah, I know I could ask, but they are busy and behind in their field work..
but it has been stuck just a few yards from the road in plain sight. for days..
they have used my land for free for many years
.I should think it would be worth at least one tow..
when they get stuck in the wet spot in my field, I cannot help them pull out a large 4WD tractor with 8 tires taller than a man. but I do go see what I can do, make a phone call for help or whatever..

I am finally about done on the flight cage for my California valley quail. Yes, they fly like a regular bird and perch in trees. Hope to move the cage up to the barnyard and screw the top on. The side has a little door to put the waterer in, and I plan to build a feeder. There is a roof over where the water will go, so they don't poop in the water.
