I used a cardboard box and folded the flaps closed. that was when I had to transfer chicks from the house to the brooder when it was cold outside.
I did use a bucket once in awhile, too.
too cold here to work outside.
Got confirmation that my corn and beans are shipped. should be here by Saturday.

the local green house is advertising on tv that they are open. tomorrow I will try to get some tomatoes and bell peppers..

this non-gardening is getting out of hand

We thought this would be a quick process, its taken way longer than we thought. I don't have any pictures of the wiring up but it's coming along. Can't wait to finish it up 🙂

Looking good! It always takes longer than you expect. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Sunny day today so I opened the pop door and was able to coax the 2 week olds to come down the ramp and into the run. They are learning our "treat" call and at least 2 of them have mastered worm eating.

Went to Farr's to get the last 4 chicks but the guy getting them out of the special order bin messed up and gave me someone else's calico princess instead of my silver laced wyandotte. I didn't catch the mistake until I got home so back I went only to find they'd given my chick to someone else. And it was the only wyandotte they'd ordered. So another week for another special order. The 3 chicks I brought home are settling in nicely other than the fact they're idiots.

Best News! 2 of DP's SFH eggs are starting to pip! 2 of the 8 so far and now I'm wondering if the peeps of the 3 store bought chicks is encouraging them. I can sure hear the pipping chicks now. So exciting!

My Chinabator is locked down, and 4 chicks hatched so far. It's my first hatch with it. It hold 96 eggs, and turns them.
