Sometimes getting help is just more workgood morning,
been busy here. I built two saw horses. they look pretty nice.
DD brought me a dozen more roma tomatoes to plant. She brought along 9 self watering pots ,. all I have to do is fill them with dirt and put the plants in them,, I didn't want any more plants. It takes over an hour to water the ones I already have. but my dear wife said, sure, bring them out.
I got six of them planted last night.. Watered them in until after 9PM . the mosquitoes loved that.. I am thinking real hard who I can give the rest of the plants to..
Oh yeah. while DD and BF were here, they ''helped'' me by re taping the leaking pipe.. Now it leaks just about 3 times faster. thanks kids..
Boots, won't the perch eat the gold fish ?
Well, anyway, It was nice of you to think of me..
they always say , the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. seems to work on some women, too. She really is putting the pressure on your chickens with 18-egg cartons..
the shed is really going up fast. looks good..
.....jiminwisc......
You have perch living in that pond?!I thought of you today Jim as DP hand-lined the perch out of the pond, she did a darned fine job of it too. The pond now has a bunch of plants in it and we've put some tiny gold fish in it to eat whatever they can find.

Not sure if I mentioned it here but we ended up with 3 roosters. Carl is a jerk and Louie and Eddie are pretty cool so far. Carl is going to freezer camp for sure, but depending on how loud (and/or annoying) Louie or Eddie get, one might get to stay. Neighbor who was so against us having chickens came over to see them and admitted that even standing right in front of the coop & run, that there is no smell at all. She has also evidently considered the advantage of having ten laying hens living next door. She now gives us empty 18 count egg cartons all the time so we are good there now. Also we've had so much produce from the garden this year we've had plenty to give away to anyone who walks by too slowly to escapeand she loves veg.
Storm hit bad here Friday night....mini tornadoes or micro-bursts or what ever.
...
I like to do things myself too, then I know exactly who to cuss out if it's wrong. The big perch sure would, that's why we fished them all out, going to have the fillets for dinner tonight.Oh yeah. while DD and BF were here, they ''helped'' me by re taping the leaking pipe.. Now it leaks just about 3 times faster. thanks kids..
Boots, won't the perch eat the gold fish ?
Yup, hard to keep up with feeding them though. You have perch living in that pond?!
Oh man, I'm so glad it wasn't worse. Good thing you have power again, that could really be a disaster.Storm hit bad here Friday night....mini tornadoes or micro-bursts or what ever.
Just got power back last evening...which means running water, ice, and fans again.
My gramps used to have a cage in the water at the end of the dock, would feed them out for a week or so before eating them.Yup, hard to keep up with feeding them though.
Indeed. No structural damage at all, except taht one window.....Sounds like you got very lucky with minimal damage in a very dicey situation.
I'll have to hire it done, could be weeks before that happens. Will you have anyone to help clean up the trees?
