Storm took out my power for 14 hrs. Used to be longer before the hospital moved to a mile away. I'm on the same feeder so it's fixed ASAP. I had a couple poults in the incubator. The hen got off the nest with the rest. These 2 were left wet and I stuck them in the incubator 6hrs before the power went out. After a few hours of no power I tried to give them to a different turkey who's eggs rotted. She thought they were something to kill. So I gave them to the original hen. She was happy to get them.

Spruce Tree went down in the poultry yard. I am blessed because it went down in the only spot where it wouldn't hit something.
30 ft of the Top of a black walnut landed in my neighbor's yard. About 50 ft still standing. I have been cutting the top up since the tree is on my side.
Place looks like a bomb went off with all the branches all over the yard. Little at a time and I will get'er done
Truly blessed since nothing fell on any structures and only small stuff on the e fence.
Wow, that was lucky! I had a goat killed years ago when a big tree fell on the shelter.

Murphy's Law,,, poor planning,, take your pick.
I guess the rain is OK, because I don't water the leaves.. Not a lot of water goes into the pots from the rain.. It wouldn't matter anyhow, because I have drainage holes in the sides of the buckets so they can't get wet feet..
this morning I took pictures of my four pepper pots. they are doing just great. not self watering.
Next year they will be.. and lots more than just four.

these 3 gallon buckets seem plenty adequate for peppers. one of the buckets has two plants in it and they seem to be just fine..
this picture doesn't show the peppers on the plant , too well. but they are there. we used a few already..
IMHO: this is the only way to grow peppers. hardly no maintenance ..

I was out in the garage working on the walkway tunnel and had to go in the house. No sooner got in than it decided to pour. Of course the wood I painted yesterday is outside, so idk if I will have to repaint.
Decided not to go to the swap tomorrow, that one was slow last month. Always lots to do around here.

about the same thing happened to my sister in Mo a few weeks ago.. she got rained out while painting the steps on her deck. in the end, the paint job was not harmed.
I took my tractor starter to the fixit guy today.
hope he can do something with it.

I think we are going to be in the hurts for canning lids. I told the daughters weeks ago to pick some up. Now the stores are sold out.
Nobody listens to me.
I will check with the Amish store in a town near us.
