I read they didn't need it with the medicated chick starter feed cause it was ground fine enough and also they didn't need it till they were about 2 weeks old. Ok just realized what u were saying about the black fly larva. Ok im gonna stop giving them that till they are older and getting grit thnx for pointing that outDo they have grit?
so true, we have eaten many many roosters..When I buy or hatch chicks I always buy more than I intend to keep. I pick the ones I like best and sell the others -- though selling males is hit-or-miss. Sometimes I just have to eat them.
Yeah they say chick feed doesn't need grit if only feed.... but who doesn't give treats.I read they didn't need it with the medicated chick starter feed cause it was ground fine enough and also they didn't need it till they were about 2 weeks old. Check for blood in stool, coukd be coccidia. Also, let's see a photo of your set up. If the chicks huddle around the heat source, they're too cold. If they all avoid the heat source, may be too warm. I woukd put chick saver in the water and feed mashed boiled eggs.Darnanother one fell sick and just not moving like instantly, he was running around fine and suddenly he just almost dead. Should I quarantine them
No blood in stool and I put chick saver in this morning. I used the electrolyte one and the probiotic one. And they don't avoid the heat source they are back and forth. Everything has been fine till the other day one chick died and it seem to set off a chain reactionCheck for blood in stool, coukd be coccidia. Also, let's see a photo of your set up. The other ayam cemani fell ill aswell I picked one up to move him over and he felt cold. The floor under the brooder was cold as well so I put down a towel under the brooder to help I hope its the temp. Maybe I need to switch to real bedding
