I got 1 1/2 hours of tractor time in yesterday.
I chisel plowed the old garden plot.
had to push some blackberries over with the tractor bucket.
the soil worked up great despite the grass and weeds. got it worked up enough so that I can go over it with the rototiller. of course it rained real hard after I got finished. so I will wail a couple of days and drag it again. after I rototill it, I will scatter a couple of pounds of buckwheat seed . after it sprouts I will plant the corn.
we have at least 3 coons show up every night. they turn on the motion light. I think they do that on purpose so they can find the food better.
I don't know what they are finding because we don't leave the cat's food out after dark,.
I hope they go scavenge somewhere else. I really don't want them here when the corn gets ripe.
We have had less than 2 inches of rain for the month of may.

I gave up on sweet corn. A radio worked for about a week, so I would get a few ears.

I don't know how good my corn seed is. it is more than a year old. I am going to plant it. if it grows, it grows.
if it doesn't, there is still time to replant.
at any rate, I will have the plot ready for next year,.
it rained twice since i worked up the garden soil. I am going to add a couple more tines to the cultivator/drag/chisel plow.
have a volunteer maple tree growing at the edge of the garden. it is about 3o feet tall. I don't want the shade so I am going to cut it down.
also have some volunteer black walnuts on the yard.
those will be cut down, too.

six days and the beans are sprouting already.
no sign of the beets.
I added one tine to the cultivator and rearranged two others. I have a nice arrangement now. should speed up the dragging.
it is raining about every other day. can't drag when the soil is wet.
Quit hogging the rain 🌧️ :barnie

Molpet. sorry agout being a hog.
today I got up early and dragged the garden once more. it is about as ready as it will ever be.
I hope to get the corn planted before it rains this afternoon. Sorry Molpet. I can't help it.
Supposed to rain here tonight, hopefully they are right.

I am gambling, I have everything planted in the raised beds and tomatoes in buckets.
one tup of peas, one of beans, one of jalapeno and bell peppers, and one with four buttercup squash and a Thai basil .
four more days until the traditional date of last frost.
the plum, and apple trees are in full bloom.
no blossoms on the blackberries yet
the two pear trees have blossoms. kind of sparse for leaves, though
no blossoms on the elderberries.
Our blackberries are bursting out berries like crazy! Not ripe yet.

Our elderberry plant is huge and full of blossoms, but no berries yet. That plant is taller than I am!

Sally PB, if you have them in a green house, they should be robust when you put them out, so no rush.
Molpet, our frosts are suppsed to be done. but I think there might be one more iffey night left.
I am not going to stake the romatoes until the end of this week.
Yesterday Annie helped me find the tines for the 3pt cultivatpr. I took the back blade off of the tractor by myself. rough job,. the bag of bolts I need for mounting the tines were not in the box where I thought they should be,. I am not going to waste time looking for them. a trip to Fleet/Farm probably will be quicker.
I wanted shorter bolts anyhow. lol
I need to stake up the tomatoes too. Damn ticks making me feel tired and miserable.

I have set a solar fence charger around my garden, but have not turned it on yet. Have to adjust the wires.
