hen and rooster, help

Lol. Well his stubs seem to be slowly stopping with bleeding. However he is a hard rooster to mess with so me continuing to mess with him is going to do more harm then good. So I'm going to leave him be till tomorrow, which then I need to clean the pen. Will the hen be ok with the rest of the group if I keep the saddle on her?

Just coat the stumps in it. He can go into the coop by himself as long as the bedding is clean and dry. If it isn't then a small pen might be a better idea. You just want to give his stumps time to heal up (or harden off) before they get dirty. You don't want them to get infected. Unlikely, but possible if he's strutting around in the dirt.

As far as the hen goes- if the saddle covers her injury then she will be OK with the flock. The injury must be completely hidden, though.

will this work? Under neith is dirt though. However at night he goes into the coop and it's just hay. Will he be ok? I'm not going to do it this way again. I'm going to use clippers and just trim them down. This is too scary for me and stressful on him and he's having oxygen problems already
