I have a tiny hen who is being picked on by the other chickens. I have two girls who aren't old enough to lay and then four roos who don't pick on her as much but will grab her. My husband says the boys are trying to mate her, but i don't understand why the girls are messing with her?
It got so bad that i can't let the hen out with them and after i get done 'hanging out' with them, i have to shut her up in a cage (its a huge pen where we usual keep the babies)
Why would they be being mean to her? Its really upsetting me because she was my first hen and i'm considering getting rid of the other two girls. I saw the hen actually run and hide, and when i picked her up she hid her head in my arms =/
She's a little english banty hen and the ones who are picking on her is a whiteleghorn and a arracona.
