Hen is standing still with eyes closed not eating

Her crop is empty. We did an exam but couldn't feel an egg. When we turned her upside down poop ran out of her mouth. We did a water enima and she seemed to liven back up fairly quickly. She's drinking but not really eating at this point. She's much more alert but still weak and slow.
Was it actually poop that ran out of her mouth or was it a foul/sour/yeasty liquid - she more than likely has sour crop.

What is a water enema? Can you tell us how you did this?

I recommend that you read the article I have linked in it's entirety, it give good information on how to treat difficult sour crop and crop issues:

We poked a hole in the cap of bottled water and gently inserted into rectum to flush empaction. Seemed to help. She's drinking but still not really eating. Still trying to figure out if it's sour crop or impacted poop or egg. Crop is empty and we can't feel any egg upon exam.

So we tried the vomiting thing again and lots of brown stuff came out. She's still not eating or pooping. Just drinking a lot. She wasn't eat anything I've mixed for her. Tried yogurt and mash mixed with olive oil, no luck. Just stands with her tail downward. I don't know what else typo do. Every time we feel her crop it's empty, so what the heck??!!Help.

Crop issues are usually a cause of an underlying condition as mentioned in the article I linked for you. Cocci, worms and internal laying/reproductive disorders can cause inflammation and slow the moment of foods resulting in sour crop. Taking a fecal sample to your vet for testing of cocci, worms and bacterial infection will give you useful information.

Personally I would not give an enema to a chicken, this could flush bacteria into the oviduct causing infection. If you feel that she is constipated, then giving her a little molasses one time in her water will give a laxative effect.

Standing with the tail down can be an indictation of internal laying/reproductive disorders like Egg Yolk Peritonitis, Salpingitis, Ascites, cancer or tumors.

Do the best you can to keep her hydrated. Hopefully you will be able to seek vet care.

I have a hen in same condition she's keeping herself separate and water from beak I drained her crop yesterday tipping her as advised I'll do same this morning also I noticed on here people are giving them pellets with yoghurt and krill oil and they found that worked for them I hope it works for my girl I'd hate to lose her

That's what I thought. I put prebiotic and Amprol 128 in her water with a tablespoon of vinegar. She refuses to eat anything just drinks, however she laid an egg last night so she's not egg bound.

My girl passed this morning. I feel so bad that I couldn't save her. I'm a newby to this and my group is now 4. I have 13 babies two weeks old and all are doing well. I hope one is as good a layer and companion as she was.
