I do give them a calcium supplement 3 times a week, and I will try the brick idea, it happened again the other day but today the egg wasn’t broken and left alone. In case the fake eggs or (catlitter) box near the entrance don't help.:
What about a few bricks before the door opening , that make it too uncomfortable to lay an egg?
If the shells of your eggs are easy to break: supply oyster shells or give crushed egg shells back.
Maybe a camera can tell you more? Or get up early to see for yourself.
I’ll have to sort out getting some higher dividers soon thanksThis looks as if the dividers might be too low to provide some privacy for the hens, so they can get easily molested or even driven out by a neighbour.
It is a sideways photo because I was trying to get it all in, and it’s a top down photo from the lid of the nest boxesKinda hard to tell... is this a top down view? A sideways photo from the door? Where is the hen laying in relation to the nests?
