Hen or a Rooster?

Hi all

Great site first of all. Enjoyed reading through a lot of the topics.

Was wondering if I could some assistance, was wondering if my chicken maybe a Rooster? Really hoping she's a she and not a he cause of the area we are living in. Great chicken too, very calm, friendly, and loves following us around the backyard. Here is a couple of photos, any help, guesses, etc would be greatly appreciated.

I can see a bump where a spur may be coming, but nothing very substantial. Chicken is 5 months going on 6. Has started trying to make some sounds in the morning but again nothing really coming out.

Sorry but I think for sure that's a rooster .

Large wattle and comb, feather appearance on the back of neck. Don't see saddle feathers or sickle tail tho…hope I'm wrong.
But sounds like he will make a good pet. Would think if a roo with attitude, then at 20 weeks you would have seen issues already?

It's 100% rooster, I do see saddle feathers. On the spur nubs, all chickens have these. Some hens will even grow spurs like a rooster does.

Thought as much but was hoping for different news. I'm okay but the missus is in love with the cheeky bugger, have another one that might be in the same boat as this poor lil bugger.

First time with chickens and they really do become addictive.

Answer to the question, this chicken has shown no aggression at all, just loves coming up and saying hey.

Definitely a rooster. I see saddle feathers and pointy hackle feathers. Also, to me, he looks like a Black Sex-Link. If he was a hen, he'd be black instead of this barred color.
