100% roo no doubt about it. The coloring will change TONS... you will not even think it is the same boy in a few months. I just grew out 6 all very different in coloring. I had one that looked like that and was going to cull him because he was not colored well enough for me to use for a breeder we he is a breeder now.....
Sorry you can't have roos.... they are so pretty and interesting to watch grow.
Oh dear. I guess I'll need to be bringing him to my friend's farm before he starts waking up my neighbors...atleast I'll have a new baby chickie or two in the house again!

it's a cockerel for sure with those hackles and saddles. coloration doesnt look quite right though i would think you would have some coloring on his wings...i cant say for sure as my rooster has to many faults and disquilifcations to be sure
A YOUNG cockerel for sure and a nice one at that. He will slowly start to show more color over his back and with this early black coloring, he should keep a nice black breast. He actually is a perfectly colored bird for his age. HenZ
