Is the buff bird also 10 weeks? If so, it's male for sure. A pullet wouldn't get that red and large of wattles until it's about to lay.

I'm not experienced but will guess pullet.
I think the females are not referred to as hens until they begin to lay.
Young males are cockerels.

So a 5 month old laying female is still a pullet? I was unsure if they were "hens" when they began laying. Still learning.

Yep. Pullets until 1 year.

I know, even I was unsure but yes, laying females under a year are still considered pullets.
