Newbie here...we have 4 teenage hens, only one of which is laying. Today another one was pushing a lot, and I could see her vent bulging, and she was reaching around with her beak and kind of poking around back there, like she was trying to figure out what was going on. It only went on for a few minutes, then she was back to normal. She's eating and acting just fine. Could she be getting ready to lay her first egg, or should I be watching for something else?
