A hen I reared nearly six years ago and that has reared at best count 3 broods incubated in the garage of house is still trying to get into garage even after though each winter she is kept in field a good 100 yards from house for most of each year. As of late she has been roosting among pens and even in the barn but as she is coming back into lay she is walking all the way back to house where she probes windows of overhead door and exterior to garage. Unable to get in she walks back and forth between garage and field for a good hour each night before dark. I just propped open exterior door to see if she will fly in.
Another older hen does the same even though she has reared multiple broods near where barn is located.
