Yeah that's what mine do when they want out of the coop/or get upset because they got separated from the main group.

Okay, really? So nice to hear that someone heard this type of noise before. Could she be stuck in brooding a clutch mentality? She abandoned her clutch quite suddenly, no visits on holidays even allowed. She actually attacked one of the chicks a few days after sending them off to college. Then, she went back to laying. Now, she isn't laying and trumpets.
