Hen with open wound by oil gland

Cousin just asked for help, so this is where to ask!
Noticed her 1 year old australop walking funny. Looked at her feet ans saw nothing but thought a soak might be good. While petting her during the foot soak she noticed this wound.
It is just in front of her tail. There is a hard little knot and then the open sore.
I am not smart enough to handle this but it looked to me to be something gone wrong with her oil gland?
For now she used the vitrycin spray and then Naprosyn ointment.
Need some of you chicken gurus to help us out please. Thank you.

I have the same issue with my chicken. I only figured it out because there was a lot of blood in the coop.
The vet gave her antibiotics, and she said to clean it a few times per day with a mixture of purified water and betadine.
It doesn't seem to heal though.... Keep us updated about how your cousins chicken is doing!
