To all of you people who said to cull her and the rest of my flock.... sorry, but you guys were WRONG!!!
I really have to thank Wild Chicken for the input. Here is an update with the sick hen.
Wild Chicken as you can tell suggested to get Tyson and use it for the sick hen. So, my parents and I were trying to wait out and see if the chicken would make it until Thursday because I didn't have school on Friday. Well the hen made it to Thursday, so after school my dad and I went to TS to get the supplies. We got home and I asked Wild Chicken how to give the bird the shot. She told me how she does it and recommended to search it in the google custom search box, which worked as well. After I found out how to give the shot, my dad held the bird while I injected the shot on the back right before the neck. At first I thought I stuck the needle all of the way through the skin and out the other side, but I guess I didn't or else she wouldn't be better. After the shot while my dad was still holding the chicken, I helped the bird drink some water w/ electrolytes because the face was so swelled up that the bird could barely see. On Friday, I went and performed at a jazz band competition from 7 in the morning until 10 at night, so I only checked the bird once I got home. The swelling had gone down a little bit, but she still looked the same. So today, I woke up, went downstairs to check on the chicken to find the eyes are clear with no bubbles and open AND the swelling has gone down dramatically to the point where there is barely any swelling left. I got the food and water out and shook the food and she came out and started pecking at the food and drank some water. She even made a chicken call which I have noticed is the call the chickens make when they cant find the rest of the flock. I then went outside to check the rest of the flock and the sick hens sister was even making the where are you call even though she has four other birds out there to be with. So THANK YOU SO MUCH WILD CHICKEN and to the other people for the support. And it shows that anything is possible...
