Today I found my pekin hen Millie has an awfully swollen face! The swelling is on both sides but worse on one side. I'm wondering if she has had an allergic reaction, bee sting or a sinus infection? I have no idea and really need some advice. She seems to be eating and clucking as usual and I have now put some antibiotics (Oximav B) in her water. That is currently the only antibiotics we have and i honestly do not know what to do. Please if anyone has any idea, I need to know.
Thanks so much. Pic included.

Do you see any marks that may look like an insect bite or peck wound? Check her for any engorged ticks as well.

Any discharge from the eyes, nose, coughing, sneezing?
Any plaques or lesions inside the beak?
Look in the ears for any insects, mites/lice, etc.
Have you added any chickens to your flock recently?

Since it's on both sides, it could be a respiratory illness.
If you don't have vet care, then do the best you can. Keep her drinking, offer some poultry vitamins and see if the Oximav B will make a difference.

Keep us posted.

Thank you guys, I didnt touch the areas much as I didnt want to hurt her and she wasn't keeping still when I held her but I will have another look at her and get back to you.

Okay so I can't get to her at the moment to check for the rest but I texted my mum who is at home and apparently she is eating fine and looking normal, with no breathing distress or discharge and the lump is only one one side now. Also yesterday I did try to have a look down her throat and from what I could see it was all normal so I'm thinking possibly an ear infection? I will check her ears and check her over again when I get home but how would u say id treat an ear infection if it is that? Would I just buy the ear spray and keep her on the antibiotics and hope it works?

Since the swelling is only on one side now, recheck the swollen side for any sign of insect bites, a sting, etc.

It looks lower than the ear, but take a look inside the ear, could be infection - usually you will see some type of hardened pus that would need to be removed.
