Hen won't stand-UPDATE: About to inject Tylan, objections? (Pg. 3)

In that tread I posted for you to look at someone in there says there vet said not to give antibiotics unless there is swelling around one of the eyes. I think it would be up to you if you wanted to give her some. I think the tread gives recommendations as to what type. Hope this helps!! Its no fun to have a sick chicken!

I'm stil here!!! If it saidbI was offline it was because my iPad went dead and I had to plug it in for a minute!

Anyways, her eyes look normal to me, so I don't know. I'll check again in a minute with better light. Thank you so much for the support!!!

Spiritdance, how else could I check to see if she's egg bound?

I wonder is she panting or breathing out of her mouth? You should look in her nose too incase something got stuck in there. I know that sounds funny but that actually happened to one of my FIL's geese. It was a seed from a tree! I think anything is worth checking in to.

Just FYI-I understand that they can still have a sinus infection without eye puffiness. In my neck of the woods, pollen is bad right now! Maybe she has pollen in her nose (I suffer from sinus issues myself so I am knowledgable about it...lol) thus irritating it? I think you should really keep up the liquids that is important, especially if it is a sinus issues.

Okay, I just checked her nose with a flashlight, lol. I couldn't see anything stuck in there.

As for the liquids, is it really important what kind I give her? I ran out of Pedialite earlier, so I've just got water.

Water is fine! If you have any poultry vitamins to add or maybe even apple cidar vinegar, that would help. Otherwise, plain water will be fine.

Did you say she kind of tips to oneside when she sits? I thought I read that, maybe I am wrong. If so, is her nose drainage on the side she is tipping or is she draining from both nostrils?
