Hens eating pine bedding-Help!

Inside my coop i have pine bedding, and my chickens seem to like the taste

They have Plenty of food out, but they seem to come into the coop just to eat the bedding. why do they do that?

and they are Buff Orps.

Mine do the same thing. It's not a large amount. I have kept an eye on their droppings but everything seems to be working fine. I probably wouldn't worry to much about it. Maybe they just like their fiber

I've seen mine eat some too, I thought it was leftovers bits of scratch, but after seeing them pick it up from the ground....nope, not scratch. They are 24 weeks...Easter Eggers, Speckled Sussex, and Silver-laced Wyandottes.

Ok. Thx guys, i was worried. i just think eating wood is a little bit Nuts.
