Hens eating pine bedding-Help!

    Inside my coop i have pine bedding, and my chickens seem to like the taste [​IMG] They have Plenty of food out, but they seem to come into the coop just to eat the bedding. why do they do that? [​IMG]

    Mine do the same thing. It's not a large amount. I have kept an eye on their droppings:sick but everything seems to be working fine. I probably wouldn't worry to much about it. Maybe they just like their fiber [​IMG]

    I've seen mine eat some too, I thought it was leftovers bits of scratch, but after seeing them pick it up from the ground....nope, not scratch. They are 24 weeks...Easter Eggers, Speckled Sussex, and Silver-laced Wyandottes.
