I have twelve hens that are 9 months old, and laid like champs from 20 weeks till now. They've gone 6 days without laying, and there is no sign of molting or feather loss. They are in a shaded area so maybe it's the lack of light.

Any ideas

They could be getting ready to molt...it's that time of year for most hens. Also, the days are getting shorter which triggers a slow-down also.

I added a light to the coop with a timer will this help get the eggs going again
I would be extremely cautious of adding a light to your coop. There have been numerous fires from them and to me not worth the destruction. Let's face it...winter is almost a period of "rest" for our hens. They molt, days are shorter, and so is egg production

Not worth it...trust me.
