Hello! I am so sorry to read this! Poor thing! Poor girl! If the wound is clean you might can do one of two things. Can you find a vet that will see her or a vet Er hospital? If not if nothing else if you can get some sterile water at a pharmacy and clean the wound with that it would be best. If you can bring her inside away from all pests and other birds and outside debris it would be best. I hope she will tolerate this. I hope that a Vet would at least call you in some pain meds if nothing else. If you can keep her out of shock you may have a chance. If you have ever put in sutures or sewn anything for yourself here is your chance maybe but try to get a vet to answer first. Also try to see if a pharmacy has steri strips and a suture kit included in a good first aid kit. Do you have any Vetericyn which is Veterinary would spray?you are welcome to call me at 662-791-9343 for help. Now I am no vet or vet tech. I have just put some sutures in and staples in for medical doctors on people and worked for doctors as a registered radiological technologist and radiation therapist and I was a hospital administrator for many years. I will do all I can to help you if you want me to and don’t mind. PamI gave her rescue remedy for shock. Gave nutri drench but is not drinking.
I thought she was too hot earlier, so i think she has been injured for at least 3 hours.
I have absorbable sutures. Do i clean her inside with something before trying? The wound looks clean. Her neck itself is exposed, and i think theres a skin flap haning down.
Do i cut the feathers off?
Do i pain medicate?
She is alert, can perch. Willing to walk. She has an active, spazzy personality. Is very sedate right now.
