My girls were attacked by a bobcat over the weekend and I would have paid much more than $250 to save any of them. I'll admit my girls were way more pets than poultry. Whatever decision you make, know it is with the best interest of your girl in mind.

Oh my, I also would pay to save her. My hubby not so much, he would have culled her. If you can afford it then I say she seems to want to live, so help her live.

How about option 4
Ask the vet if they can dremel off the exposed bone without anesthesia. If they did that I think you could get her healed up without the cost of surgery.

Personally I'd go for surgery now that she's made it this far. I'd pay 250 to know what the heck to do!
BUT I also probably would have put her down in the first few days honestly. I feel like since she's made it this far she deserves a fighting chance! (also... is an inside chicken a possibility for you guys?)

It's a personal choice but since you asked our opinions...
I would not pay $250 to try to save her. I would put her down.

Understandable! A lot of people do that for injured chickens that can't rejoin the flock so I thought I'd mention it!
I couldn't either. My cat would see a chicken dinner. Or be traumatized.

Update!
So she’s been doing great! We had her surgery scheduled for today, however they called us and told us they were raising the price of the surgery to something insane we definetly couldn’t afford. So we actually brought her to our dogs vet thinking to get her put down since we couldn’t afford to help her and didn’t want to have it get infected. However, our dogs vet took pity on us, gave her the surgery and everything for... $50!!!!!!!! He doesn’t even treat birds! She’s resting now and is getting so much better! Can’t wait to bring her back to the flock!
