There are several different hens there. The one is the second oldest (currently 8 years old) and dominance changes from season to season. Whichever hen has poults to care for normally acts as the most dominant and is usually respected and left alone until after the poults are at least "teens" before real dominance struggles take place.Wow! You aren't kidding. Is she your dominant hen in your flock, or just the oldest?
There is only one tom in all those photos. He is the one on the left in the next to last photo. He is in the background of several of the photos. He is the only Self Blue (aka Lavender) in the photos. All of the rest are proven hens and they are all Blue Slates.I thought those where all 3 males in the photos
Not only can hens strut but they can also have beards. I currently have three bearded hens.OK Its the poses i think that got me . those are pretty slates i have chocolates so im still kinda learning i didnt know females did that too . Right now my tom is trying to breed my dark brahma hens LOL
