Quote: When mine were very small I read them "Stone Soup" and they added each ingredient to the pot, and I cant remember the detinking how to make a story come alive; the librarian, a former teacher said she did that regularly with her studentsails now, but did manage to keep the rock out of the soup pot. I thought I was so originall, gess not but my kids had a great time learning.
My point is at 3 1/2 you CAN start teaching a 1000 things: stacking plastic measureing cups , plasatic (or not) mixing bowls etc. PErhaps the bowl as drums. At that age I stood my kids at the kitchen table and gave them the measured ingredients to dump into a bowl to make brownies. Fast forward, they ca both fend for themselves in the kitchen , and my youngest likes to make some of the meals on Sundays.
A teaching moment is always at hand. I don't home school but I am trying to supplement what my kids don't get at school. I am not ready tohomeschool yet-- but I"m trying to learn how to find resources. SO if anyone can share, please PM me.
Yes we treat everything as a learning experience, after all that is life. One big learning experience. I love it
