Quote: If you have lavender and eucalyptus oil to run on you it works the same if not better. You can mix a little unscented lotion in it too. This way you avoid the patrolatum on your skin.

Quote: When mine were very small I read them "Stone Soup" and they added each ingredient to the pot, and I cant remember the detinking how to make a story come alive; the librarian, a former teacher said she did that regularly with her studentsails now, but did manage to keep the rock out of the soup pot. I thought I was so originall, gess not but my kids had a great time learning.

My point is at 3 1/2 you CAN start teaching a 1000 things: stacking plastic measureing cups , plasatic (or not) mixing bowls etc. PErhaps the bowl as drums. At that age I stood my kids at the kitchen table and gave them the measured ingredients to dump into a bowl to make brownies. Fast forward, they ca both fend for themselves in the kitchen , and my youngest likes to make some of the meals on Sundays.

A teaching moment is always at hand. I don't home school but I am trying to supplement what my kids don't get at school. I am not ready tohomeschool yet-- but I"m trying to learn how to find resources. SO if anyone can share, please PM me.

Yes we treat everything as a learning experience, after all that is life. One big learning experience. I love it :p

At now turning 4 months on Wednesday we're still kinda working on him learning to hold his own bottle, crawl and sit up on his own. But when he is a tad bit older I'm sure we will be teaching him all he can absorb. We're still in the baby steps of learning... Quite literally.

And Chic CAN my parents have Mullein growing wild all around their house. It's almost taken over actually. So next spring and summer when it's in full swing I'll be sure to dry out every leaf I can get my hands on. lol

Quote: yes that is what you do, and some kids are not into learning some things, but one day it clicks and they did get it. Every child is different and I love homeschooling because you can cater to it. I find my 4 year old learns better from his older sisters than he does me :p He looks at me. "I don't want to mommy." lol *sigh*

Yeah I have lke 5 plants they ast 2 years then another pops up somewhere. Definitely a good herb.

Ug I hate the stomach flu. Once you can keep something down the herbs work :p Before that forget it.

Oh if you haven't I strongly suggest signing up with HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) . They really back you up legally and keep you well informed. They have been fighting for Homeschooling a long time now.
