Here comes IKE!

Looks like I'll be on the dirty side, but I'm two counties north of Houston, so all I'll see is a lot of wind. It's been said once it hits land it will move off pretty quickly, so I don't expect to see a lot of rain. Edouard hardly left any for us.

Stacey, hope you are inland enough. I do think it is looking more and more as if it is going in around Freeport. Not that we will get away from it. It is nearly 400 miles across. UGH! Hubby got down the dead tree near the house. That was a relief. It was right over our son's bedroom. Since we are in a mobile home if the winds do get up we will have to leave. I am not so worried about the livestock, but I am about the piggies. I have so many. It will just be a matter of getting back and getting the generator going if we do have damage and loose power.

Keeping all in prayers north east of us - and along the coast period.

I think I am. I'm 60 miles north of Houston, about twice that from Galveston.

The wind has started to come in out of the south here and it has clouded up with the occasional shower.

Well we are about 110 north of Houston. But it looks like it is going to come right in our front door. We are on Interstate 45 the main south to north hiway they show it coming straight up the hiway from Houston to Dallas 115 mile north of us.

DH and i worked all day getting ready So much for my birthday today. Oh well there are more important things to worry about

Oh, I do sincerely pray for all of you in Ike's path, pray for safety & grace & wisdom in all your decisions, pray that Ike will weaken and have a soft touch.

Here in So Fla we're told "flee from water, hide from the wind" meaning evacuate if you're in a flood zone or coastal area, if not then board up tight & ride it out. Many folks here turn their horses out during storms unless they have a solid storm-proof barn. Don't forget to put some ID on them in case they wander through broken fences.

During TS Fay there was a nearby stable hit by a tornado. It lifted the roof & walls away -- and the horse inside didn't have even a scratch!!! I'd like to get her to come speak at our church, now that's an animal who knows how to pray!!

Please let us know how well you made it through this storm, we'll continue to keep you in our prayers.
