I was wondering why she asked you if you were bringing lunch and then said she was. In her defense, a good BYC member NEVER logs out of BYC!

We all are a bit anxious on the water level. How much water today?

Thanks for sharing the before pics! The house looks really cool with no water. Cannot believe how high it sits. Gives you a good idea of just how much water is there!!! Hope it holds and you all don't get anymore. Stay safe and we will continue to keep you in our prayers over here in the desert! Sure wish you could send some of that water this way because we sure could use it here!!

hey all - this is erica (other daughter) pirating mom's account again (this time on purpose - i'm too lazy to switch over to my account on this slow computer!)

mom's still alive, we've just been busy busy all day. got a lot out today, (most of the appliances went yesterday), what we haven't hauled out we're attempting to get up on the sawhorses daddy built today. we've gotten a lot up but there's still a lot to go - the master bedroom suite, the living room furniture, etc.... mom got some great pics today - the water has finally gotten high enough under beulah house that it's floated off its foundation stones and was making a break for the creek. one of daddy's buddies was out there pushing it around with a boat, trying to get it at least out of danger of disappearing alltogether and tying it off to a tree...

there was just under a foot from the water to the porch when we left this evening. probably by tomorrow evening there'll be water in the house. =/

oh well, off to bed.... early day tomorrow!

Hi Jen and family!
I am amazed at the way you are handling this flood. It must be such a part of life for you where your live that you have gotten accustomed to doing what you have to in order to live there. It is a beautiful home! I'd live there too. I agree with the last post, I'd love to hear a little of the history of the house. I hope and pray that you get Beulah House tethered to your property. It would be terrible to lose it. I'll be watching this thread to see how everything progresses for you. Good luck and God Bless.

This event should be made in to a book. Even with the condensing of what all has happened from the beginning it is fascinating to read what preparations are in place. The steps taken from the beginning of knowing that things could get bad. If for no other reason than its something for others that live in flood prone areas to glean ideas on what to do. The attitude dealing with this comes across, the acceptance of it being fact so let's not sit back and wait.

Kudos to all of you for taking this situation seriously and ending up coming out way ahead of those that refuse to do anything before it happens.
