Wow, our thoughts and prayers are out for you and your family. There is SO much about what this is like for you that I do not understand. And it never really occurred to me that there would be stuff to understand......

Is a beaulah house the one on the stilts?? It's not attached to the pilings? The water is up to that house?? I saw the map of where you put the goats etc, is that area still dry?? Is it some one else's property?

I am a person who tries to prepare for everything, but it is coming real clear that there are alot of things you simply cannot prepare for; and you always need community no matter how independent you think you are...... Wow.

Hey all. Ok to answer some questions since I think mom isn't able to get on in right now. Ok. The other house is still very much dry so the goats and chickens are safe!! Ha.

Now Beulah house. Heehee. You asked for it!! The man we bought the place from bought the house and put it there and had it all set up with beulahs furniture and belongings etc. All this after Beulah died. Loooooong before this Beulah was a *huhum* entrepreneur rumored to have many "customers" who were well known "fine upstanding citizens" of the area. So I'm sure hat house has a lot kore history than we know. And now you know!! Hehehehehe

Sorry I haven't been keeping pics up to date. Have been hauling and packing and stacking pretty steady. Now I can't get my picture program to work right. I managed to get two pics ready. One is our friend Bussy pushing Beulah House back close to location to keep it from floating down the creek, or, worse yet, floating into the main house and taking a chance on damaging its pilings. Then they tied it off to a tree. The second pic is the main house yesterday morning with about 12 inches from water line to top of porch floor boards.

Hey mom!! Have they changed crest yet? Couldnt find the page again that showed them. With crest predicted down south of you for tomorrow didnt know if yall would crest earlier now or not.

I'm not sure what is cresting south of us unless somewhere around New Orleans but that is because they are opening the gates to Lake Ponchartraine. We are predicted for 5/15 but they haven't updated since I heard they were opening the gates. Memphis was supposed to be cresting last night. I'm hoping it changes.
