Here is my first coop -

After getting all kinds of idea on BYC I thought I'd show you all what I came up with.

My coop is for six RIR hens. It is 4x7 and has plenty of ventilation (I hope!) I don't plan to insulate bc I can put it in a insulated barn if needed. The plan is to build a bigger coop in the future and use this one a brooder.

Let me know what you think, I'll post more pictures as it takes shape.

Great job so far. I like how you integrated the nest boxes into the coop very much like Jarhead's design, although it might make sense to insulate the nestboxes since they'll have the most weather exposure...

It's coming along great so far. The skids on your coop are the same design as mine.

My husband just built a coop on the same type of skids.
Here's a picture of it:

It is a 8x6 with the nesting boxes on the back with lids so you can gather eggs on the outside.
