I have a broody bantam buff cochin due to hatch today. She has 7 eggs under her and 2 are pipping. One of them is from my birchen maran.
This will be our first birchen baby from them.

Let's hear it for us Georgian girls! Congrats and please post a picture. Also have you joined the Georgian page yet? We are trying to plan an outing to Ellijay for the Apple Festival on the 13th of October.

None of my Swedish Flower Hen eggs hatched

And one of my boys, my 5 year old, dropped one of my babes in the garage, and it died instantly

Yep that's a crummy BAD day and so sad for your son also. I hope you will someday be able to hatch some Swedish Flower chicks soon. Hope you have a better day.

guys i have a poorly chick 4 days old and for the past few days i have had to clean its bum in a morning as it is covered in poo and its dryed and clogged up . well today he / she isnt its self just falling over , wings hav dropped down and letting the other chicks walk all over it . ive given nutri drops yesterday and today and bought him / her in doors under a light away from other chicks . help please ?????

I ordered from Ideal poultry andmy chicks will be here next week,, so excited..
I am setting up their brooder it will be my extra bathtub I am going to check temps today and then it is just waiting,,, the hardest part...

guys i have a poorly chick 4 days old and for the past few days i have had to clean its bum in a morning as it is covered in poo and its dryed and clogged up . well today he / she isnt its self just falling over , wings hav dropped down and letting the other chicks walk all over it . ive given nutri drops yesterday and today and bought him / her in doors under a light away from other chicks . help please ?????

Oh noooooooooooooo Kay!!!! That's awful. I don't know what to recommend other than I used to have chicks die with each hatch until I started using medicated starter feed. Are you feeding medicated feed? Oh Lordy, don't know what to recommend but I know that Brook has had that problem, hopefully she will get on here soon and give you some advice

hi picanins , feeding chick crumbs by Dodson & Horrell and this is what it says on the bag, contain an organic acidifier to help prevent infection and disease and can be fed with herbal tinctures for an all natural approach to managing the bird through periods of stress.
ive given Net-Tex Poultry nutri drops im just about to go and get some cider vinegar for the water , but there is only this chick that is poorly and there is 4 others in the brooder ???

Hi Kay get some marrIages Chick starter crumbs with coccidistat that's what I use I use there layers pellets for the older hens aswell
