I've got silky eggs only 2 tho as mine was deliverd eggs 2 were non fertile 2 didn't make it and the 2 I'm left with camera is ready but I'm betting I miss everything that's just my luck fingers crossed for ya fur n feathers carn't wait to see pics xxx

Just found this thread I have 5 paint Silkie eggs that should hatch on the 20/21st they go on lock down tomorrow night. They are my first try since having a horrible hatch a few months ago ( my first in about 9 yrs.) These are pullet eggs. All look like they are developing well . NO idea how a Paint to Paint breeding is going to turn out.

Welcome to the group!!! Not long for you now. I have 12 assorted Silkie eggs brewing in the bator. I originally only wanted 6 eggs(thinking 6 chickens) and then decided on 12 because I just "knew" that to get my 6 I would need 12 eggs. Just my luck all of them are developing...LOL.

Well i lock down Tuesday so Friday is hatch day...gotta look at my calender to see what the date is.I only know tomorrow i go in stress mode hahaha

Setting up the hatcher tonight. I feel like that is where everything crashed and burned last time. Last time, I took the turner out and upped the humidity in the incubator. Time before, I had a second bator set up as a hatcher and did OK, not great, but ok. So, I'm going back to what worked. I really want this to work this go around. I have a staggered hatch with 4 sets of eggs: 6 barnyard mixes, 12 SFH, 3 duck eggs and 16 cochins and Seramas. Kinda stressing me out. Someone compared this to pregnancy; I never found pregnancy stressful or anything to worry about (if I had a question, I called my midwife, and I don't have mine in the hospital, so I don't have that to worry about). But this worries me, probably because I can't control much other than temp (I had zero problems with that in my LG, in the basement) and humidity (which is giving me fits, having stayed around 30% the whole time).

After my first hatch I made a second bator just for hatching. I hated having to take out the turner and upping the humidity too. With the second bator I thought it would be easier to clean and could have it up and running before I locked down the eggs. I defeated my purpose by adding a new set of eggs to the hatcher.

Went into lock down noon today.

The last batch all hatched on day 20, so Tuesday or Wednesday for me.

Yes - total noob - I have never hatched or kept chickens before. Should be hatching on saturday 22nd. Same day as Brookhavens??
