Do not close all the vents. The eggs need fresh air circulated in the bator. During lockdown you want all vents open.

I have both vents open this time (for the first time). Because I have a still air incubator I read somewhere that someone has really high hatch rates with the giant when removing both vents throughout 21 days ... BUUUUUUUTTTTTTT today I'm having trouble keeping temp consistent (not sure why) - do you think I should put one of the red plugs back in or just continue monitoring temp?

I've got 6 white silky eggs in my incubator it's my first hatch I'm very excited and worried at the same time had a moment earlier that I thoughts had placed my eggs the wrong way round in the incubator
Welshchick I wanted some lemon sablepoot eggs but I couldn't get hold of any so settled on the silkys for now

how long have u had ur eggs in the incubator for ?

Hi,
I have had these eggs in since Tuesday. I got them from Ebay!

I am still waiting for my 12 Pekin eggs to arrive. Lady I am buying from has had a lot of problems this week so she will be posting on Monday! This means I will be setting them 1 week later than the 6 sabelpoots.
As I only have 1 incubator this means I will have to open it to turn the Pekin eggs when it should be in lockdown for the sabelpoots.
I do hope this will work out! I can't afford a second incubator just now or I would get one.

.... first time I have EVER bought shipping eggs, and if they don't hatch it will be all my fault because they arrived SPOTLESS. I am so so so chuffed (english expression for VERY happy) with the shipping experience!! Super nice lady

yes, I have those eggs in my bator now and under my broody... can't wait to see what hatches!

ok, my broody kicked out an egg...well not really she is just not sitting on it. So I took it in to candle and it had a lot of fluid in there... The egg is still alive. Does anyone know what is going on? maybe she is "airing" it out... I doubt that cause she was trying to hatch a plastic egg for the longest. So I think the humidity here is too high... but the chickens around here always hatch their own eggs and do fine. kinda wondering if I should go get those other 3 eggs from her and give her back her plastic ones. ...
