I have officially set my eggs about 5 minutes ago. Thank You Lord!
The best way that I have found to candle is hold it like you were- big end up. Shine the light through the large end at an angle. Move the light around until you can see what's inside. That shadow you saw on the top side is the air cell.Ok, I candled my eggs. Holding the egg with the large end up and the light at the bottom. There is a shadow at the upper portion that is sort of on the side. Is this the aircell or the yolk? And should it move at all? Thanks.
I am using 2 homemade bators. I made them from 2 Igloo 48 quart coolers. One has a water heater thermostat and the other a wafer. I have to say they keep temp. and humidity very well. Here is a pic:oh that is so yukky!!! I hate that!!! Are you using the giant again this time round (sorry if I've already asked this, I can't remember if you're using the Brinsea or Giant)?![]()

I received 16 Swedish Flower eggs today. I have asked for 12 from someone else, and I have 12-18 bantam eggs coming next week. This will guarantee every last one will hatch, as I really don't have room. We already have 25 chickens.
I need my head examined. How many chickens are too many? LOL
