congrats and fingers crossed for the other chicks , i am sick of this rain already im having to keep my chicks in this small space under the coopand they are usd to running all over my garden . when i let mine out they run round flapping all over the place , quite funny . look forward to pics . this is where i have to keep mine now its raining so muchHi Girls! It's been a manic couple of days so not been on much. Day 21 today - so far I have 1 chick that hatched last night and looks good and healthy, 1 just pipped and as of 8am today 2 not yet even pipped. I hope I go home to a couple of new fuzzballs in there!
I had to put the Pekin eggs in a make shift incubator for a couple of days whilst these were hatching and surprisingly the temperature is holding really well so more hatching this time next week too! NO MORE THIS YEAR!![]()
I moved my older chicks out of the brooder this weekend and put them in a large dog cage in the 'chicken room' (actually my small 3rd bedroom), still with a heat lamp in the corner as they are only 4 weeks old. They seem to love it as there is so much more space for them to jump around and have a flap.
I must get a door on my shed this weekend ready for them to go out there in a couple of weeks. I hope it isn't raining!
Pics later/tomorrow of the ones who hatch![]()
Wow, I always wondered how to tell the difference. Thanks for this!
