HERE WE GO AGAIN Anyone SETTING Aug 30th - Sept 8th join me!!

beginning of day 19 here, out of the 11 shipped light sussex eggs, only 3 made it to lockdown with definite promise, left another 3 that don't look as good but I'm hopeful, just 3 would make me happy, heck I'll take 1 and call it good, darn shipped eggs

here's hoping for lots of baby pics this week!

Right guys/gals last hatch I used the cooling mode on my mini advance incubator which cools the incubator down for what ever time period u set it to in my manual it says that a mother hen leaves the nest for up to 2 hours a day to eat pooh and drink so I'm thinking I may leave the cooling mode off this hatch what are everyone's thoughts on this u don't start the cooling mode till after day 7 of incubation

Set 5 Swedish Flowers this morning in lockdown. I'm totally anxious about those.

Candled the Cochins and Seramas, and only one Cochin and 2 Seramas have survived. Several quitters, but most were clears. Shipping stress. The lady I got those from has great hatches at home. Boo.

Then I swear I'm done until next year. Unless I have all boys or all girl SFH!

Okeeeeedokeeeeee!!!! What a couple of days ......

.......... and during this time we're thinking of getting more goats and becoming goat milk suppliers ...... sooooooooooo here's some pics :

Sorry about the iphone pics, but it's the best I could do tonight. Here is our only Black or Blue Copper Marans (somebody can let me know if they know what). I would say this is a pullet, but that may just be wishful thinking ... LOL

Onto the next two. There is one Olive Egger (BCM/Am) and one Super Blue Layer (Leghorn/Ameraucauna). Now to tell which one is which????? Am I really going to have to wait for them to lay eggs??? Any thoughts anyone??

Here is the fuzziest little butt you ever saw .... LOL ....This is a Super Blue (the yellow fluff ball) and a............ wait for it ........ Cuckoo Marans .... I'm telling you this chick came out of a HUGE big brown Cuckoo egg...... I have never seen a Cuckoo Marans chick before but it looks like the 'milk man came visiting' ... LOL

And then there's these three ......Two Super Blues and one Olive Egger (who I'm convinced is a Roo). The Olive Egger is the one with gunk still stuck to the back of his neck.

6 out!!! Oh my WORD what a night??!!!
4 Super Blues (but 2 were born with a HUGE sac and are not doing very well at all this morning)

Ohhhhhh I'm so excited for you!!!! The SBELs hatched really well for me. Only one wasn't viable and one doesn't look like its made it (it is only day 21 so we'll see). Out of 16 that made it to lockdown, 11 hatched (2 died after about 12 hours) but the remaining 9 are having a party right now!!! LOL!!! Keep us posted and show us pics when the time comes!!!

We officially locked down tonight. We have four Bantam Mottled Cochins. Candled one last time, and all four eggs looked really full, with decent sized air cells. Even saw some big movement in one. Got the humidity up to 74%, hope we are doing everything right...... I am so ready to see some babies. :D

Get the humidity down into the low 60's. Here in Florida you do not need high humidity to hatch. I learned the hard way.
