HERE WE GO AGAIN Anyone SETTING Aug 30th - Sept 8th join me!!

Set 5 Swedish Flowers this morning in lockdown. I'm totally anxious about those.
Candled the Cochins and Seramas, and only one Cochin and 2 Seramas have survived. Several quitters, but most were clears. Shipping stress. The lady I got those from has great hatches at home. Boo.
Then I swear I'm done until next year. Unless I have all boys or all girl SFH!

I was thinking about getting some Swedish Flowers but decided on Marans instead. Make sure to post pics when they hatch.

What a tough night. My single Araucana chick was doing fine since it hatched and then last night I heard distressed chirping and went it to find the poor chick having seizures. On its back and legs sticking straight out. When I rolled it over it's head actually flipped all the way over and was laying on his back. I tried electrolytes, vitamins and a mash (which it did eat) but sadly to say the poor chick passed away shortly after.

On a good note, I woke up this morning to 3 more Silkie eggs pipped and one totally zipped but not hatched yet. I see movement so I know it is just a matter of time. The 2 pips from yesterday have progressed a little more but still no signs of zipping. Nothing on my Marans eggs so far.

Ohhhhh no Brook - I am sooooooooooooo sorry. That is completely yucky. It's like, once they're out you want to breathe a sigh of relief and believe they're gonna be fine now!!!

I have a question for you. I have never, ever, EVER (did I say 'NEVER') had so much sticky goo on the chicks. I mean they were born slippery and it is taking them over 24 hours to start to fluff out because the goo is actually sticking to their feathers and they're drying like they've got hair gel on them. One of them has an eye stuck with this goo. Do you think I can use warm water to ungoo them (especially the eye) or do you think I should leave it? Thoughts please
