Ohhhhh no Brook - I am sooooooooooooo sorry. That is completely yucky. It's like, once they're out you want to breathe a sigh of relief and believe they're gonna be fine now!!!![]()
I have a question for you. I have never, ever, EVER (did I say 'NEVER') had so much sticky goo on the chicks. I mean they were born slippery and it is taking them over 24 hours to start to fluff out because the goo is actually sticking to their feathers and they're drying like they've got hair gel on them. One of them has an eye stuck with this goo. Do you think I can use warm water to ungoo them (especially the eye) or do you think I should leave it? Thoughts please![]()
What did the temp. get down too? I really don't think that 4 hours is going to hurt too much. When the bator loses power it's not like the temperatures dropped from 99.5 to 80 instantly. It's a gradual process just like when you set them in the bator and they warm up to 99.5. I wouldn't candle tonight, wait until day 7 like normal. They have already had enough stress for today. Being day 3 you probably aren't going to see much anyway. Day 7 will give you a better idea.right gals i need your help my electric went today while i was out and for how long i dont know ? most 4 hourswill this hurt my eggs they are only on day 3 . i am so upset im going to candle later to see what stage they look at![]()
