Here We Go Again (hatch-a-long)

In January I tried to hatch Dutch bantams. Nothing. 0% hatch rate. Now we have a better thermometer and hydrometer to keep track. We've been running the incubator and keeping it in the right temps and humidity.

So here we go again. This time we're doing Mille Fleur D'uccles. Hopefully things go better.

So to save everyone some confusion, here is what's happening.

I started with 15 D'uccle eggs, 14 Mille Fluer and 1 Porcelain.

Came home this afternoon to a new bator, and 28 Bielfelder eggs. (My birthday is this month, which would explain the sudden appearance of chicken things.)

So the bielfelders are going in the Farm Innovators bator - the old one. The Farm Innovators bator will hereby be known as the FIB. And the d'uccles will be going in the Nurture Right bator (hereby known as the NRB).

SO THE D'UCCLES WILL BE HATCHING ON THE 22-23, AND THE BIELFELDERS ON THE 24-25.

THERE IS SO MUCH CHICKEN HAPPINESS OVER HERE YOU HAVE NO CLUE.

Just switched everything around. The D'uccles are in the NRB, and the Bielfelders in the FIB.

Sorry, that took so long. I have 10 Silkies on day-16 and 10 Salmon Faverolles on day-15. So far all are developing beautifully! I can't wait! This will be my first hatch for 2020!

Just moved all the chicks to the brooder, excited for the Bielefelders tomorrow and Monday!

Woke up this morning to two pips in the Bielefelder bator! SO EXCITED!

Woke up to two unzipping! Went over to start making breakfast, heard a commotion, and watched this little guy pop out!

Moved the dryest chicks into the brooder with the D'uccles! At this point we're going to need a bigger brooder!
