Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Chikn, you can use very hot water to help push humidity. A bowl with sponges standing up in the water helps also.

Marty, it sounds like you are ok over night. They should be showing progress by morning.

YaY on the eggs shipping out.

Iain, no lambs today. :( hubby was having a very bad day here and we had customers and I had to pick up new breeding Muscovy stock.

Such a long day, just finished grabbing a bite to eat. The goslings I am working at saving/assisted hatching is a Sebbie. It's head is a very cool silvery blue.

You may have missed chikn's post?

Bummer about your hubby. Hope he has a better day tomorrow.

Awesome save on your sebbie. Was it already past hatch date?

Iain, the dip was what you saw in the pic. I just checked again its all about the same. I'm just practicing patience. Besides, we know they are usually behind if your breathing on their shell waiting. LOL

Hey ya'll!

First off, chik I'm very sorry to hear you lost your little guy. I know hoe heart breaking that must be.

Ok Iain...tell me what to do next! lol

My little zipper is going to town! It's almost 1/2 way around the shell now. I need to put something under it before it comes out right? I got some of the cabinet liner stuff so it's non slip

Ok here is my Erin toulouse egg at end of day 24. For sake of comparison, I did it upright too. My line is also day 21. My dip is close to yours, but not quite, but the baby has pushed so it's just sitting over line in the back. You can see the red clear along top by air cell with the dark mass just below, which is the baby... and is easily seen moving.

Goosed, EXCELLENT!!! Love the pic!!!! I would just leave it alone and not worry about having the wire floor. As soon as it hatches you can open bator to slip a hand towel in under baby. Your baby should maintain the pace to complete zip 80%. Then, it will turn back to where it externally pipped. It may rest for a bit before the big push to open cap off shell.

It won't be long!!!!

Thanks for the pics. I could go look and wait again, but when I looked earlier they all had veins I could still just make out, which I think is positive. I don't often see movement, but I do sometimes. The bigger they get inside, the less I'm able to make out, honestly.

The egg rolled over!!! so now the original pip location is underneath! It did a wacky bowling ball roll lol and went back to the original angle (horizontal)

Marty, I have faith that whether this baby hatches on its own... or if you have to hatch it from internal pip on out... it will hatch!! You will be the 1st of our gang to hatch an Erin baby. We will keep notes on greys vs. buffs as we pop them out one by one.
