Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

I don't recall fluid from nose, but given how textbook she hatched and how great she looks in pics, I would not be worried. The key is keep her warm until she can regulate her own body temperature (which takes a couple of days). You can put a dash of sugar in her water.... or pick up polyvisol drops (without iron) and add that to her water too, if you feel she may need a boost.

I also have learned that mazuri waterfowl starter is way superior to any other feed for your baby. I switched all of my ducks/geese to mazuri after having an issue or two crop up with using purina starter food. On day 2 or 3, I also offer teeny chopped up pieces of kale or romaine lettuce as a treat/supplement.

Glad to have ya on our thread!

That is so cool about your pilgrims!!! I can't wait to hatch egg from my own birds!! Hopefully, I will be able to this winter with my new duck flocks (cayuga and ancona). Not sure how long utility toulouse take before they can lay eggs... but I'm told it will be 2 years before I can get hatching eggs from my dewlaps to be.

Yes, I'm always ready for more eggs. I suppose if it comes to it, my geese can be on lockdown with turkeys and pheasants, as long as I keep the humidity up during any brief open periods.

I'm gonna go check sebs, and snap pics maybe.

If they lay eggs the first year, I'd be trying it anyway!

Right on, Marty. I wanna see pics of where your sebbies are at.

Tracking my 3 sets. All 3 got to post office before noon Saturday. Erin's sorting facility seems to not like to scan packages, but based on the other 2 sets which show they have left sorting facility for my local sorting facility... I am hoping Erin's package is also on its way.

The fluid is gone now, so I'm sure it was just something left over from her hatch. She is so full of energy! She does not like it if she can't see any of us. I moved her to the brooder. She was standing up and pecking at the heating elements in the bator!

I'll look for mazuri. Where did you get it. I have access to both tractor supply and coop.

Seb egg #3 looks to be getting ready to internally pip!! Seb egg #1 looks not too far behind #3. I dunno about seb #4. It also looks to be crossing the back side of day 21 line??
These are day 28 eggs?

Do you know average hatching time for sebbies? (i.e., african is 29/30, toulouse is 30/31)

Goosed I move goslings out of my LG much faster than I do ducklings. They seem to big when they are walking around and stretching up. I use a 30 gallon glass aquarium as a 72 hour post hatch tank. However, when my african hatched a day before my toulouse babies last week, I set up a brooder pen out of a rectangle sized plastic crate. It worked well. Teeny baby goslings are like teeny baby puppies. They are very stressed to be alone. They will have lots of energy in between long naps. They like stuffed animals and soft towels to snuggle up with. Here is a pic of my set up:

I have to special order feed from my local mom/pop store, but you may try looking at mazuri website for major distributors like TSC.

I agree, two of them are almost where the toulouse is, and very very active. The one that hasn't done much is actually coming around a bit now.

AS soon as I see a pip, off they will go into the lockdown w/some other eggs. You don't move geese until internal pip, right?
