Speaking of which, he is the latest pic of Molasses, hatched from the cayuga egg seller I highly recommend.

Thanks!! He is the most lovey dovey duckling!! I never would have believed a duckling could be this way.

Evening all.

Baby has a "virus" his fevers are sticking at 103, they drop for a short time then right back up. If no improvement he will be rechecked Monday. For now we hydrate, and rest. He did good tonight, ate and drank a bottle of milk and a cup of juice. Sure he will be back up again, but for now he is sleeping soundly.

Iain.. That duckling is so cuddly because there are no other ducks, so it has completely bonded to you. This is good in that you are enjoying. It is bad as it makes putting it outside very hard down the road as it won't see itself as a duck.

Marty, did I read right that your Scovy eggs are on day 34?

No lockdown yet, but lots of movement.

Iain, he is a cute boy (or girl). I'm loving my babies, but they spend lots of time one w/me, and the seb likes DH.

Celtic, yes today is day 34 for muscoveys. Theyw were set MR 10. They were awesome up until about 4 or 5 days ago, and no movent detected since.

Erin egg is doing awesome! It is externally pipping in the sweet spot at this moment, squeaking away. At this pace, it should hatch tomorrow late morning. This egg was in transit for 9 days and the other 2 eggs with it arrived all messed up. But this little baby is one strong bugger... and he's been textbook since day one. Impressive!

Thats great, Iain. What day is it on now? Got a pic???

Ugh! I'm so mad! My sisters cat knocked off all my goose eggs that I was going to set tonight..! I had them on the very top shelf so she wouldn't get to them and I came home to every single egg splattered on the floor..

I swear... That cat hates and I'm pretty sure she did it on purpose because she hates me and she is never on that shelf.
Can you still get more eggs? I've got 5 Erin Toulouse in the bator, and 5 dewlaps going in tonight. I'm done with goose eggs for the season after these 10. I just hope Celtic has enough pretty feather sebbies in any color to send me a couple for the rock garden.

In fact, we're going to use some rocks that used to be around the broken down pond to build a very small house (kid and goose sixed) in the far corner, to provide sheltor at will for all sebbies in future. Between barn (w/personal entrance) and small sheltor, and a private yard, the sebbies are going to be spoiled. I'm gonna make the toulouse (if I get anymore) live togather except in springtime. Then I'll divide Giants and Dewlaps, for egg purity.

Hhmm I found scovies are second hardest ducks to hatch behind call ducks. No idea why, but our sets were similar to yours. Set 12 had 4 hatch, 3 survived to adult hood. Set 12, had 2 hatch, lost both.

If you are looking for meat Muscovy then go with the French whites, they get larger quicker than the pretty colors.

Sorry your baby is not feeling well.

Erin's toulouse should hatch tomorrow... and I was planning to brood him with my duckling. Do you think he will bond up with the gosling and less with me... which ultimately would be better for the duckling (I assume)?

Marty, will need to know the gender of the Sebbie you hatched before sending any your way. Can't send a goose and gander if you hatched a gander. They would attempt to kill each other come breeding season.
