New shipping idea for sending goose eggs.

Packing peanuts or shredded paper in outer left and right long pockets.
Place peanuts or paper into each hole
Wrap egg in bubble wrap
Set into hole pointy end down
Pack shredded paper or peanuts around egg

This allows for 9 eggs to go in 1 large flat rate box safely

Aww thanks, it's lots of fun during goose season for sure. We are a closed farm though and never allow anyone onto the fenced property. We have various points we can stand and point out birds from, but the brooder house and various pastures and yards are off limits to keep everyone healthy.

I don't blame you, who knows what could be brought in. There's too many crazy people around these days too. Although, I would probably be stuffing goslings in all my pockets and making a mad dash! LOL. Totally kidding of course!!

I can see celtic chasing you to get her babies back!! would be worse then a pair of geese!

Funny stuff!

Celtic, that looks like the surest way to protect air cells in shipping! I will not buy any more eggs unless I know shipper packages them pointy end down and individually wrapped. :D

Maybe its time for something to be written about the correct packing of shipping eggs. when I buy shipping eggs, I try like crazy to convince people to ship pointy end down, well seperated, with 2-3" cushion of packing material around the sides. They are not always happy with my suggestions. One of them said "well hens dont store their eggs pointy end down" and I replied that they don't ship eggs, either. Humans ship eggs.

If I start a shipping eggs well thread, will you come post this? I think I will start it, and make it very open to the receivers of eggs, hoping the shippers may come and rethink thiings a bit. Your experiences with receiving eggs definitely influence how you perceive a good way to package to be.

I know! I got 2 sets of duck eggs last week, laying sideways. Not a single one had intact air cell. Half are developing, but because they have so much fluid, I propped them upright and now they are sticking to sides. Getting ready to just toss them all. So frustrating!

Yeah, I'm a little worried about some duck eggs I've got coming too. I've traded two dozen of my best layers eggs for two dozen with a duck farm (egg folks too) back east. I insisted that they pack my way, and won't send their eggs until I receive mine in good shape. They fussed, and whined, and when I said I would trade my precious well packed, high laying egg genes for POS, they decided to do it my way. They ought to, 12 of my hens are outlaying their best 12 by about 15 a year!!!
