Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Now that is how it is supposed to look!! I'd probably wait and check in morning before going into lockdown, but they are really close though! :D

Wow you guys have been chatting it up since the last time I was on!!! I couldnt believe it was on page 138!

I set my four buff dewlap Toulouse on the fourth. Starting to look like all four may be fertile and growing!!! I'm beyond excited. :) These are out of Sierra's show stock and are originally bred from Alison Grell's line of amazing Buffs. I SOOO hope they all make it to hatch day! The wait will probably put me in the looney bin! :D

Anyone else set eggs around the 3rd or 4th?

I would so love to have one. When I ordered mine, they were a few weeks behind, and I needed it in 2, which they could not do. So, stuck with an LG to go with my hova. both have fans. I use a still air hova for hatching.

I want one!!! I ordered buff dewlaps today.

works for me.

Marty, looking good. Check this morning they should be internally pipped. If not, watch their actively and if you think it is or has slowed then I would step in. If you have to step in this morning they won't be hand hatched until Tues/Wed most likely. If I remember right today is day 29 for them now yes?

Will post if we get the call for egg pick up today. I have three goslings to ship out also so hopefully the eggs do arrive today.

My sloshy baby is doing well, may get to open it up more today. Externally pipped the last egg last night before bed to give it air all night and so I could sleep.

Moved three more down this morning to the holding Brinsea until they internally pip, one of these is a Peaches egg Mart (the Lilac goose). More due at the end of the week again including eggs from Kowanu.

Going to build PVC hoop playpens for the goslings so we can put them all outside during the day.

Will get pictures of the oldest two we are keeping. He is a white and appearing curly she is who knows what color, currently a silvery blue tone. I am guessing a splash right now but will see what she feathers in.

Good morning, all.

Celtic, glad to hear your fluid baby is doing better. Love pics! Can't wait to see them!

Marty, how are your eggs this morning!?!??!

Animal addictions, glad you are joining in our hatch along. I ALMOST bought eggs from Sierra, but I had already purchased eggs from another seller when Sierra's stock began laying. Did you notice that Allison Grell is selling eggs from her show stock on ebay right now?? If I didn't already have so many eggs to set... I'd be jumping on those listings!!

In other goose (non-hatching) news... I moved my oldest set of goslings over to the coop on my horse property yesterday. They seem to enjoy their big house with the outdoor run with fresh grass shoots, but of course I worry about whether heat lamp works all night, if I hung it low enough for them to stay warm, are they safe from predators, are they scared being away from the garage/house. As soon as the sun rises... I"m running over to check on them (even though I know hubby checked on them at 10pm and again around midnight.

By moving goslings out, we were able to do a full rotation with pens too.... moving our 2nd set of juvenile ducks into garage with the 1st set, and giving my baby ducklings and goslings bigger pens in the brooder room. We are set to hatch new babies.. it's day 26 for 5 cayuga eggs and the first Erin toulouse egg, so things better start coming to life inside my bator soon!

Well, that sounds like a full rich day.

Erins Toulouse has his head out a bit now, but hasn't absorbed all the yolk yet (oops) but is moist and resting comfy. I heard him peep a few minutes ago.

Here are the two sebs

This is a pic of the slowest egg now, a detail pic, if you will. Its moving, but not a lot. Might be sleeping. Here is anoter pic of it, and it looks like the baby is actually moving away from hatching position.

Still a shawow at the bottem
